Purpose of Job:

The Software Test Engineer will be responsible for the testing and validation of APCON’s industry leading suite of network monitoring solutions. The role involves writing and executing test cases, developing automation scripts, and improving testing processes for applications in high-performance network environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop test suites to validate the correct behavior of applications and application features
  • Create and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks/libraries in Python.
  • Manually execute non-automated test cases when necessary
  • Advocate, develop, and deploy new testing/automation tools and concepts
  • Assist software development team on bug fixes, bug isolation, issues and resolution

Qualifications and Requirements: 
 
  • 5+ years in a software/hardware test engineering with a focus on both manual and automation testing role
  • Experience in software development (languages such as Shell, JavaScript, Python etc., are a plus)
  • Strong experience in testing applications, including functional, regression, performance, and integration testing
  • Experience with test case management tools like TestRail and bug-tracking tools like Mantis
  • Able to write scripts (Python, shell and REST APIs) that help with debugging and validation of application features
  • Testing experience with IP networking, and switching technologies
  • Hands-on engineering lab experience testing hardware or software (highly preferred)

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in CS, EE or equivalent
